Decree

INJA Gallery is proud to put on display the paintings of Masoumeh Abirinia in an exhibition entitled “Decreed”.
This collection consists of 24 works of acrylic on cardboard which depict Iranian plates of days past, inspired by those she has collected herself with great thought and scrutiny throughout the years from different Iranian cities.

The pleasant spirit of these paintings reminds us all of a not-so-distant past and such plates, with different patterns and designs, can undoubtedly be found in every Iranian home.

Born in 1972, Masoumeh Abirinia currently lives and works in Tehran. She took up painting experientially and began her professional career in 1999. This exhibition is her tenth solo exhibition and her first with INJA Gallery. Her works have been displayed in more than 15 group exhibitions in Tehran, London, Dubai, Stockholm, and Washington.
